019-046 MILLIMETER RULER TO MEASURE FACEBOW SIZE |
| Flexible millimeter ruler used to measure the size of facebow and looped arch wires. Place the ruler on the mesial of the headgear tube and curve around the arch, noting the measurement at the midline. This should correspond to the size of the inner bow. |

070-005 FACEBOW SZ-2 HIGH PULL/MINI SHORT |
| Fitting the inner bow is the same with the High Pull Facebow as is is with the Cervical Facebow. The outer bow is now shorter, to allow minimum adjustment for proper force application. Adjust the outer bow with a 3-prong facebow plier until the "string" of the force module passes through the center of resistance (sizes 1 to 4, catalog #070-005 to 070-008).
o Modules are the same for high pull as cervical: 12 oz. and 24 oz.
o Headcap: For attachment of the modules and positioning on the head of the patient. |

070-0080 FACEBOW SZ-1 CERVICAL/MEDIUM (83MM) |
| The cervical bow has an inner bow with a U loop that acts as a stop and adjustment device to lengthen or shorten the bow. Since we use occlusally placed headgear tubes, the U loop points superior. The outer bow is longer than the inner bow, so minimum adjustments need to be made to obtain a force that passes through the center of resistance of the upper first molar if the "string" of the force module is extended. To locate the approximate center of resistance on the face of a patient, mark the outer bow where the mesial of the headgear tube is engaged (just distal to the U loop). Insert the bow in the mouth, then measure 10mm superior and 1mm anterior from the mark on the outer bow, making a dot on the patients' face. Adjust the outer bow up or down with a 3-prong headgear plier until the string would pass through the dot, if extended. Line of force can be checked by taking a lateral ceph with the headgear installed. (sizes 1 to 5, catalog#070-0080 to 070-012). Tube size .45 |

070-018 HEADGEAR MODULES-12oz |
| No adjustment of force is needed with this set-up. The modules apply twelve ounces (light modules) or twenty-four ounces (heavy modules) of force at any length past the first centimeter of extension. The module is radio opaque, as is the safety clip, so the line of force may accurately be traced on any progress cephalometric x-ray taken with the headgear worn by the patient. Light modules (12 ounces) will result in distalization of molars with some restraint of growth orthopedically, especially in patients age 10 and under. The heavy modules (24oz) are used for cases in need of orthopedic correction of the maxilla, skeletal class II with maxillary protrusion. Extra-oral Force delivered through the headgear apparatus is also commonly used for anchorage enhancement.
Adjustment for head size is made by moving the modules more to the center of the strap for small heads. |

070-020 REVERSE PULL HEADGEAR |
| Reverse pull headgear is used in Class III cases with maxillary insufficiency. Simply adjust the arms of the facemask to fit the patient's head, being conscious of the level of the attachment screws to the occlusal plane. Connect one or two six ounce 3/8" elastics (Rhinos) from the upper first molar bands to the attachment screws. The line of force is usually adjusted to be below the occlusal plane. The elastic force and the headstrap hold the facemask in place. |
